Learning is at the heart of Freemasonry and exploring the 7 Liberal Arts and Sciences is rewarding. Huguenot Lodge No. 46 has been, since its founding, a champion of learning. Founding brothers Benjamin Underhill, James Sommerville and Dr. Matson Smith were all recognized for their service to public education. Additionally, Huguenot Lodge No. 46 created the first public library in Westchester and what is today the Bronx, with hundreds of books this served the local community for a small fee. The library had two branches one in what is now the West Farms section of the Bronx, the other in the Eastchester section of what is today Westchester County.
Today there are many, many libraries and sources of information on the web that a Mason can tap into. Unfortunately, public libraries are awash with unreliable publications, with many based upon myth, propaganda and outright hoaxes. We encourage our brothers to seek truth and learn to sort through the nonsense to do so.
Below are a few links to get you started on your journey towards light. There are many more to explore, but these are some of our favorites.

Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and his fraternity.
